Student Wellness Services

MTSC Student Wellness Services (formerly "Health, Counselling, and Disability Services" or "HCDS") supports the personal, academic, and social development of students at Mt. Sierra College by providing a range of programs and services. Our mission is to provide a welcoming, confidential, and integrated service that is responsive to the needs of students.

Sexual Violence: Mt. Sierra College is committed to providing non-judgmental sexual violence support and response.

Health Services

The Student Wellness team provides confidential, student-centered health care, including comprehensive medical care, travel medicine and education, immunization and referrals for specialized treatment.

Our multidisciplinary health team includes family physicians, psychiatrists, registered nurses and support staff. We are here to help support you in achieving your personal and academic goals.

Counselling Services

Counselling Services works to foster student success and well-being while providing services that respect the values and unique needs of all people. It provides short-term counselling geared to resolving personal difficulties, dealing with crises, and distressing situations. It also works closely with partners in the California community to assist students who need specialized mental health services or longer-term counselling support.

Counselling Services is staffed by psychologists, certified counsellors, social workers, and trainees from the graduate program in the Department of Psychology.

Therapy Assistance Online (TAO) provides 24/7 secure access to online resources to help students manage stress and anxiety.

Student Wellness Services (SWS) is committed to supporting the health and wellness of our students. While life at university is exciting and filled with new experiences, it can also be overwhelming. It is common for students to experience feelings of distress.


Accessibility Services

Accessibility Services (formerly "Disability Services") assists students in the following ways:

  • Recommends exam accommodations
  • Facilitates access to material in alternate formats
  • Provides assistive technologies
  • Coordinates learning strategies and library research workshops
  • Coordinates volunteer note-taking and peer mentor programs
